`bright cyan`Main Menu Help
The Main Menu is the first menu you'll typically see when you begin
`bright yellow`Franchise Basketball `white`from this point, you may go to any of several
options.
`bright cyan`Read FBB Gazette Sports Page
This is where you'll get all the latest information including league
standings, last nights scores, a history of the seasons scores, and
in the registered version a listing of league leaders in various
categories.
`bright cyan`View/Edit Team Roster
From here you can edit your players. Players can be benched from
the starting lineup, you can switch a players roster slot, allow
the computer to re-calculate your starting lineup, and train players
to make them better at certain skills. In addition you can View
a players stats, both for the season and the last game.
`bright cyan`Walk to the Front Office
The Front Office is where all on the managerial decisions take place.
It is here that you can upgrade you stadium, concessions, promotion,
publicity, and merchandising to increase revenue and attendance at
home games. You may also change ticket prices, move your team to a
new city or stadium, and change your nickname. Money is important
to the game. It is used to upgrade nearly everything. There is also
a bank option in the front office, which places funds in the bank,
and allows your money to earn interest at a rate of between 3 and 8
percent.
`bright cyan`Scout an Opponents Team
Sometimes it is important to know about your competition. For this
reason you may choose to send out an advance scout to gather infor-
mation about your opponents. Under this option you may view another
team's roster, current starting lineup and statistics.
`bright cyan`Acquire Players Through Free Agency
In the registered version, owners may release players to allow roster
slots for any number of things. These released players are said to
be "free agents" and you as an opposing coach may sign them to play
on your team. Through this option you will see a listing of the
free agent pool, and optionally be able to sign the players.
Remember, there will have to be a roster slot opened for them to
join the team.
`bright cyan`Trade Players
Again, in the registered version, you may propose and accept trades
from other teams (owners).
`bright cyan`Instructions
This option brings up the instruction menu for you to get help with
a number of topics.
`bright cyan`Quit to BBS
This allows you to exit the game back to the BBS system.
